WhatsApp has internationally revised its privacy policies and made it compulsory for consumers to either accept the terms and conditions or remove their account. The update was issued to both Android and iOS users in India, so you are likely to download it shortly if you have not yet received an in-app notification.
The current strategy provides information on WhatsApp programs and how consumer data is handled by the organization. It also shines light on how WhatsApp uses hosted Facebook platforms to store and treat platform chats.
The biggest highlight of the upgrade, though, is that WhatsApp will now share the data of its users with Facebook and other third-party providers that are compatible with its content services.
WhatsApp terms and conditions 2021
WhatsApp receives and collects the user’s information to operate, provide, improve, customise, support, and market its services.
The company says, “When you or others use third-party services or other Facebook Company Products that are integrated with our Services, those third-party services may receive information about what you or others share with them. For example, if you use a data backup service integrated with our Services (like iCloud or Google Drive), they will receive information you share with them, such as your WhatsApp messages.”
Furthermore, WhatsApp says, “if you interact with a third-party service or another Facebook Company Product linked through our Services, such as when you use the in-app player to play content from a third-party platform, information about you, like your IP address and the fact that you are a WhatsApp user, may be provided to such third party or Facebook Company Product.”
These revised terms and policies will be effective beginning on February 8, 2021, and consumers will have to approve them in order to continue using the service. You should go to its Support Center if you would like to get more information about this.
