Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and his wife, Bollywood’s A-list actress Anushka Sharma have been blessed with a baby girl on January 11, 2020.

Virat shared the news on social media as he wrote, “We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat.”

Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team, was given paternity leave by the Board of Cricket Control in India or BCCI and, after playing the first of a four-match test series, flew home from Australia towards the end of December. The squad is being captained by Ajinkya Rahane in his absence.

“In an interview in December, Anushka Sharma discussed parenting, saying she and Virat Kohli didn’t want to “raise brats.” Speaking to Vogue magazine, Anushka said, “There are so many parallels in the way we are as people and the way we treat life. So I think that’s going to work for us. Before I ever become a mum, I’ve been dreaming about it.
