In connection with the violence at Red Fort during a tractor parade by farmers on Republic Day, the Delhi Police have filed a sedition case.

A case under section 124A (sedition) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered and the incident is being investigated, according to a senior police officer.
According to the FIR, 30 to 40 tractors, along with 150 motorbikes and private vehicles, arrived from Rajghat at around 12:15 pm.

The crowd of over a thousand people gathered near Shantivan red light and proceeded to hit the barricade with their tractors and also attempted to run over the police workers present at the site.
After this, they began moving toward the Red Fort, broke the wall, and from the side of the Lahore gate entered the rampart.

Delhi Police has said it has the registration number of the car in which the defendant arrives and there are attempts to track them.

Earlier, the Delhi Police had named actor Deep Sidhu and gangster-turned-social activist Lakha Sidhana in an FIR lodged in connection with the violence and mayhem at the Red Fort.

Agitators hoisted flags on the domes and raised the flagstaff on the national monument’s ramparts.

In the meantime, the Red Fort will remain closed to tourists from January 27 to January 31, according to an order given by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

In the FIR, 37 farmers’ leaders have been designated and will also be asked to surrender their passports so that they do not flee.
The Delhi Police has alleged that farmer leaders made inflammatory speeches and were involved in the violence during the tractor parade. More than 300 police personnel have been injured in the violence and many of them are in serious condition.
