Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday took a dig at Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee throughout a rally in Bengal and stated there was a glitch in his helicopter however he will not name it a“conspiracy”.
After being injured in Nandigram last week, Mamata Banerjee had said that she was attacked under a conspiracy, prompting BJP leaders to call her claim a drama.
“I am a bit late today due to some glitch in my helicopter but I won’t call it a conspiracy,” said Amit Shah at a rally in poll-bound West Bengal’s Ranibandh.
Amit Shah also said that even the committee has said there was no attack on Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram. “130 people [BJP workers] have died in your regime. does one understand their pain? you simply know your pain after your leg injury.”
During her campaign in Nandigram, Mamata Banerjee had suffered injuries on her leg and shoulder and alleged she was manhandled by 4-5 men. As Mamata Banerjee’s TMC blamed the committee for removing the Director General of Police each day before the incident, BJP leaders called her claim a drama.
The committee (EC) has said there’s no evidence to point out that the Nandigram incident was an attack on Mamata, which her injuries were the results of slack security arrangements.
EC suspended IPS officer Vivek Sahay, who was in-charge of the CM’s security, and Purba Medinipur Superintendent of Police Praween Prakash. It also transferred the Purba Medinipur District Magistrate.
