In a stern message to Mumbaikars flouting Covid-19 norms, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation on Monday said that it has filed an FIR against a popular Bollywood actor for flouting coronavirus guidelines on being testing positive.
Without revealing the name of the actor, Mumbai Police tweeted, “No ‘Role’ Greater Than Helping Keep Mumbai Safe! FIR has been filed against a Bollywood actor who flouted quarantine rules and went shooting after testing positive for COVID19. We urge citizens to ensure a well deserved climax for the virus.”
With 16,620 new cases, Maharashtra on Sunday crossed the 23 lakh mark of total Covid-19 infections registered till date in the past 370 days, health officials said here.
In Maharashtra, the total number of positive corona cases stand at 23,14,413. The state has recorded 21,34,072 recoveries so far.Amid rise in coronavirus cases, lockdown has been imposed from March 15 to 21.
In view of surge in COVID-19 cases, the Latur administration has announced to impose night curfew in the district between 8 pm and 5 am from March 15 until further orders.
Notably, the union ministry of health and family welfare on March 15 said that five states of Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu continue to report a surge in the COVID daily new cases. They cumulatively account for 78.41 per cent of the new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
