For allegedly flouting Covid-19 rules by continuing to shoot while testing positive for the virus, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has released a two-month Non Cooperation Directive against actress Gauahar Khan.

The notice against Khan requested that all Indian cinema associations affiliated with the federation “distance themselves” from the actor for the next two months, pending the issuance of a new directive allowing her to return to work in the industry.

The actor’s acts came a day after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Mumbai’s civic body, filed a complaint against him for allegedly going out on a film shoot while testing positive for drugs. She was the subject of a first information survey.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees said Khan’s alleged acts were “highly condemned” and “indeed a significant offence” in a press release on Tuesday. It said that the actor had not only broken federal and state laws, but had also put the lives of the entire crew on the set in jeopardy.

“Such ignorance will not be tolerated by the FWICE, and it thanks the BMC and Mumbai Police for the FIR filed against Ms Gauahar Khan, actress Mumbai, for her inhumane and insensitive act against the other crew members as well as the government,” the union added.

For the next two months, the federation has given a Non Cooperation Order to the actor. “Any members found cooperating with Ms Gauahar Khan will be subject to FWICE disciplinary action,” it continued.

Khan, who had initially remained silent, responded on Tuesday on Instagram, saying, “Reality shall always prevail.”
