Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has vowed to set up a three-member party committee to push the gang rape and murder of the 50-year-old woman of the Badaun district to the bottom.
SP Speaker Rajendra Chaudhary said that on January 7, the committee led by former party MP Dharmendra Yadav would visit the spot and “test” the incident. The commission will visit the victim’s families as well to comfort them.
The woman was gang-raped and was reportedly murdered by a priest and his two accomplices as she went to a temple on Sunday. Police said the victim’s legs and ribcage bones were found fractured in addition to fractures in her private areas.
Although the priest was on the lam, his two accomplices were arrested on Tuesday night following a reported post-mortem attack, police said on Wednesday.

NCW will be following this case closely and we will make sure that justice will be delivered,” she said.
