India continued its low streak of single-day cases on Saturday, with 14,256 new coronavirus infections recorded in the last 24 hours, raising the total tally to 1,06,39,684, health officials said.

The nation has reported fewer than 20,000 new infections daily for the past 16 days, even as the toll remained below 300 for just less than a month.

India had 10,064 new coronavirus infections recorded on January 19, the lowest single-day increase in seven months. On June 6 last year, the country had reported over 10,000 cases.

On Friday, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that with 152 new deaths, India’s total toll stood at 1,53,184.

According to the Ministry’s results, so far 10,300,838 individuals have recovered and are presently there. currently there are 1,85,662 active cases.

The recovery rate stands at 96.82%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.44%.

Eight states—Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh—report about 84 percent of new cases on a daily basis.
