On Wednesday, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh mocked the decision of the Supreme Court to form a committee to study farm laws and challenged whether the apex court or PM Narendra Modi had named him. Singh also asked, taking to Twitter, why those people were not part of the commission.
“Farmers beware, Is it a committee suggested by Hon Supreme Court or by Modiji?” Singh said in a tweet along with links to some of the committee’s members providing information.

“Please look at the recent positions of all the four members of the committee set up by the Supreme Court to study farm bills: 1. Ashok Gulati 2. Anil Ghanwat 3. Dr PK Joshi 4. Bhupinder Singh Mann (sic),”he said besides questioning the decision to appoint a committee outside the Parliament to examine the Farm Laws.

Digvijaya Singh demands JPC on the farm laws
“Hon Supreme Court must send back the Laws to the Parliament and suggest to GOI to set up a Joint Parliamentary Committee to resolve the issue,” he said.

The apex court upheld the enforcement of the three farm laws on Tuesday and set up a committee to study the laws, namely the Farmers’ Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, the Basic Commodities (Amendment) Act and The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act.
