A man tried to rape a four-year-old girl in the Ramgarh district of Jharkhand. The man was arrested, named as Ajay Turi.
The incident occurred on Thursday, when the minor was playing outside his home, in the Vikas Nagar area under Ramgarh police station.
Living in the neighborhood, Ajay Turi lured the girl into his house and tried to rape the boy.
The girl’s father said his daughter started crying, went home and told her mother about the entire incident.
The agitated locals caught hold of the man after learning about the incident and thrashed him before handing him over to the police.
Ramesh Mahto, the head of the district, said he heard of the incident after the victim’s father called him. Mahto said that he had called the police and subsequently , the cops arrested Ajay Turi.
The case has been lodged under POCSO and under various sections of the IPC.
