In light of the Full Dress Rehearsal (FDR) for Republic Day 2021, a travel advisory was released by the Delhi Police on 23 January to ensure the smooth movement of traffic in the national capital. The FDR will take off from Vijay Chowk at 9.50. Then the procession will continue to the National Stadium. Thus, along the parade line, diversions were created to ensure the comfort of regular commuters.

The FDR parade route will be as follows:
Vijay Chowk – Rajpath- Amar Jawan Jyoti – Gate of India – Palace of the Princess – Tilak Marg – C Hexagon – Gate of National Stadium 1. At 9.50 am, the parade will begin.

Restrictions on traffic –

  1. No traffic on Vijay Chowk will be permitted until the parade ends.
  2. There is no crossing at the Rajpath intersection until the parade ends.3. C-Hexagon and India Gate area will be closed till the parade and tableaux enter National Stadium

Suggested Delhi Police Routes:
Ring Road- Ashram Chowk – Sarai Kale Khan – IP Flyover – Rajghat – Ring Road The route is for commuters moving from North Delhi to South Delhi and vice versa.

For West to East –

AIIMS Chowk – Ring Road – Dhaula Kuan – Vande Mataram Marg and Mandir Marg – Ring Road- Bhairo Road – Mathura Road – Lodhi Road – Aurobindo Marg.
To proceed as usual, Metro Services
During the FDR ceremony, Metro Rail services will begin uninterrupted, but boarding/de-boarding will not be allowed from 5 am to 12 noon at Kendriya Sachivalaya Metro Station and Udyog Bhavan Metro Station.

During the FDR, the flying of sub-conventional platforms such as paragliders, UAVs and quadcopters in the national capital was banned.
