After a video of its newly named Bulandshahr leader insulting party president Sonia Gandhi surfaced, the Congress party was left red-faced.
On January 8, the Congress Party named Kunwar Tauqeer Ali as the President of the Bulandshahr City Congress Committee.
However, after a video of him insulting Gandhi went viral on social media, Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President Ajay Kumar Lallu revoked Ali’s nomination.
In a video chat, Ali later sent an apology, but the Congress Party has not yet replied to it. The leader of Congress has explained that the video is about five or six years old and was shot while he was not affiliated with it.
