On Tuesday, the routes across Delhi’s boundaries remained limited as farmers continued to demonstrate against the three new agricultural laws.
The borders of Ghazipur and Chilla between Delhi and Ghaziabad and Noida remain partly closed, with only one carriageway for those leaving Delhi open.
Traffic heading towards Delhi has been redirected at both borders, with farmers blocking one carriageway.
However, since November, the Singhu and Tikri borders have continued to remain completely blocked.
A senior Delhi traffic police official said the rains in the city on Monday and Tuesday exacerbated snarls in other areas of the city, along with the traffic restrictions.
“In many places there was water logging and arterial stretches were jammed around Ashram, Kalindi Kunj, Sarita Vihar, Noida Link Road, Akshardham flyover in the morning,” the officer said.
Traffic snarls were also seen on Tuesday on the Nizamuddin railway bridge, ITO, Teen Murti Marg, Sardar Patel Marg and Dhaula Kuan.
