Five cops could be seen abusing, kicking, slapping and torturing a young tourist in sub-zero temperatures in Himachal Pradesh in a disturbing video that went viral on social media sites.
This video was filmed in the newly opened Atal Tunnel. The video shows a young tourist in a ‘murgha’ pose when a policeman walks into the frame and hits the man on his back, and he is slapped three times by another.
The constructor, Ajay Tyagi, who is another of the accused in the case, is absconding.
Under similar sections of the IPC, including 3044, Ajay Tyagi, Niharika Singh, Chandra Pal and Ashis were registered on the complaint of a deceased son at the Muradnagar Police Station (causing death by negligence).
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath voiced sorrow over the loss of lives. He has announced Rs 2 lakh as financial relief for the families of each person killed.
The Chief Minister also directed Meerut’s Divisional Commissioner and Additional Director General of the Police District to submit a report on the incident.
