A man reportedly raped his married sister last month in an inebriated condition in Uttar Pradesh. The lewd act was reportedly reported by a neighbor of the perpetrator, who was intoxicated as well. The case happened in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.

When the accused began stalking and harassing the victim, the case came to light. Initially, the survivor’s parents were pressuring her not to contact the police.
Woman’s ‘alcoholic’ brother
On December 23, on the pretext of some important job, the woman’s “alcoholic” brother went to their sister’s home. The Times of India claimed that he allegedly fastened the doors from the inside and raped the woman. The lewd act was filmed and threatened to post the clip by a neighbor of the accused, warning her against sharing the incident with others.
Woman avoided filing a lawsuit to protect the “reputation of the family”
The woman alleged that right after she was attacked, she tried to contact the police, but was stopped as the “family’s reputation” was at stake. In addition, the victim alleged that the defendant used to wander outside her house and even assaulted her.
Still accused at large
Darvesh Kumar, Civil Lines SHO, Moradabad, said, “The FIR has been registered under IPC sections 376 (punishment for rape), 452 (house trespass after preparation for injury, assault or wrongful restraint) and 5066 (house trespass after preparation for injury, assault or wrongful restraint) against the main defendant and his friend” (punishment for criminal intimidation).

The suspects are on the move and attempts to apprehend them are ongoing.
