A woman in Madhya Pradesh was reportedly forced to carry a member from her husband’s family in a bid to publicly shame and humiliate her. In a video going viral on social media, she can be seen carrying a child on her shoulder as a crowd of men follows her with sticks, jeering her.
The surprising incident passed off between the Sagai and Bans khedi villages of Guna district, NDTV reported.
A video of the horrific incident went viral, which reveals the girl strolling on as villagers armed with sticks and cricket bats march observe her, laughing and taking pleasure in her humiliation and ache. Some hit her with the sticks and bats when she slows down.
Police stated they’ve a registered a case primarily based on the incident and 4 accused have been arrested. The girl’s grievance states that she had separated from her husband by mutual consent, and was in a relationship with one other man.
There have been instances of similar humiliations inflicted on women in MP before. Last year in July we reported how a tribal woman in Jhabua district was forced her to carry her husband on her shoulders for an alleged extra-marital affair. The video of the incident had gone viral on social media. Consequently, police took cognisance of the video and registered a case. The husband was reportedly arrested.
